A Dream of Idleness

Ambiguous Flower, 2015
Mao Lizi pseudonym Zhang Zhunli, is a Graffitist-Painter of the twentieth century, born in 1950 in Shanghai. At three he moved to Beijing and in 1979 became a member of The Stars Art Group. Since he joined the group, he has exhibited at every Stars Group exhibition.

He graduated from the Fine Art Department of Capital Normal University, Beijing in 1986 and held his first solo exhibition in the US, invited by Hefner Gallery, New York.

My heart lives a roaming dream, and the rest evaporates in the autumn wind.

He was visiting Professor of the Ecole National Superieure des Beaux Arts, Paris, France by 1990 and was awarded the Grand Prix of the Artists du Monde group exhibition held in Paris the following year.

Discovered since 1990, Mao Lizi’s collective and personal exhibitions were held throughout New York, Paris, Hong Kong and Barcelona.
