Bali’s Garden of Life Foundation, deserves a special mention in this month’s editorial for it seeks to improve the ecological and social balance of the island through the creation of an attractive and unique eco-monument that will raise awareness as to Bali’s pressing issues.

Funded solely by donations it will be the world’s biggest crowd-funding endeavour and energy-field on planet Earth.

The architectural masterpiece will be composed of 430 thousand personalised glass hexagons that will be donated by lovers from all over the world. These hexagons will be covered with energy-generating interlayers that are expected to generate up to 1 MW of solar energy, which will be partially re-fed into the Balinese energy grid, responding to the energy needs of the rural population.
